I need some advice from the people on this board.
My labor certification was recently approved via PERM. My employer will soon be signing the paperwork to file the I-140 with INS. My contract with him expires in February 2007, and he wants me to continue working for him beyond that. I, however, have expressed my desire NOT to stay with him any longer than I need to. Obviously, I will need to stay until 6 months have passed from the filing of my I-485 for portability to kick in.
the whole employment thing works with the premise that you are going to work for him after you get your GC...However unjust that might be that is how it is...So you got to reconcile with that fact...And you have to cultivate better relations with your employer....You should not speak about him/lawyer about leaving him. If you have already said that you have done damage to your cause and you have to do some damage control.....I know that employers are a pain in you know what but if you want GC you would need to take the pain ....

That is not true. Once you have EAD on hand, you can chose to work using your EAD. I-140 pending or approval has nothing to do with working on EAD. The risk is, if his I-140 is not approved, then it would automatically trigger a NOID for I-485 and his EAD becomes invalid....thats the risk factor. But one can work if one has EAD.

UPDATE AT 3:15 PM EST TUESDAY: The latest update we received is the annoucement to be made soon will be as follows:
DHS will be rescinding its July 2 update and the initial July Visa Bulletin will take effect for 31 days � i.e., all employment-based green card categories (except for the �Other Workers� category) will be �current� and CIS will accept applications through August 17.
DHS will issue a press release to this effect later today.

...if ppl were sitting back and relaxing after seeing the first report on the USCIS website regarding the 485 numbers. But at least the starter of this thread is an exception to that.If the USCIS dozn't update that doc monthly just like they do with the visa bulletin then something is really fishy and they'd end up fooling us again like they always do.
BUT THIS TIME WE MUST FIGHT THIS. I really feel that we have a valid reason to.Count me in...I'm not sure how v shud start (class action lawsuit)...IV moderators any ideas/plans to ask for updated reports if the USCIS fails to provide the public with this info???

Folks, the key is here to articulate the interests and educate lawmakers on why amelioration and terminal relief is required. Walking out of workplaces does not reflect the value that legal immigrants bring to the economy. My friend while leaving US he did not surrender the I-94 card. Actually he forgot it at home and the airlines allowed him to board plane without surrendering I-94. What should he do now? Guru's does any one have any experience with such situation? Please help

3.> Proof of status for her (I-94s, I-20s, I-797, EAD, etc)
4.> Copy of her complete passport (including expired one if it exists)
5.> Her birth certificate / affidavits
6.> Copy of your I-140 approval
7.> 6 photographs of her
8.> Filing fees

and read the first para. It says G-325A has to be processed only if the applicant has entered the US in non immigrant status less than one year prior to current calendar date of review.
So any one who has entered US before (07/02/06) will have their G-325A trashed? I was under the impression that USCIS does use the biographic information to check with local law enforcement for the the past 5 years as stated in the G-325A. Any ideas?

Here are my thoughts, I-485 application is accepted by USCIS based on priority date set by DOS in order to distribute available visa per country violating the basics "All men should be treated equally".

I got the magic mail today ---Card production ordered!!! Just for me.
