Here is my story...When I came here 12 years back, for initial 3 years I did not applied for GC. Then I started my GC with a employer, company lawyer kept on saying that he filed my GC for one & half year but he did not...One fine morning, I realized that my lawyer was seating on my papers as per instructions from HR..lost around 2 years there. After talking to HR, lawyer filed LC and LC was approved thereafter two & half years..Unfortunatley, at the time of filing I-140, company declared "Bankruptcy" and once agian I was on the road. Joined new employer. New employer said I have to complete one year to file GC. After one year filed LC, my I-140 approved and last FOUR years on EAD. This roller coster is because of...I am from "Retrogressed" conuthry and PD is getting retrogressing now & then...
Still feels that GC is just a part of journey of my life...

What happened to EB3-I, call to action ? I sent out the letters ,but what is the follow-up ? Looks like everyone is interested only in EB2 India and nobody is doing anything about EB3-India.

I see a pattern here.Looks like the EB2 folks are getting EAD renewals much faster than the EB3 folks.EB3's are getting screwed even here.

Dear admins,
I think deleting my post was not fair. The other people who have been bashing us with MS degrees need to also have their posts deleted.
I was not offensive in anyway, I just pointed out the reality of the situation and that is not "being offensive."
If you are afraid of alienating some of your contributors, well then by deleting the posts of ppl with Masters degrees you risk alienating them.
If I offended the admin personally if he/she does not have a masters degree, I apologize for hurting your "feelings" but that does not allow you to delete my post.
Finally, since 99% of the time the admins come back with not relevant to the thread, I agree on that ground but respectfully request the deletion of posts by a bunch of others like the "hiring manager" who instigated this discussion.

I understand if the companies want to protect their business. Let�s say that X works at a client place through a vendor. X�s employer has an agreement with the vendor which says that he cannot employ his employee, the vendor has an agreement with the client which says that they cannot take X through another vendor.
My question is there a validity period for these agreements beyond which it becomes invalid. A couple of years should be ok but it is frustrating to be bonded to some employer for years because one doesn�t have freedom to move around and be with the same client.
There is a time limit between X's employer and Vendor (they will renew the contract every year or so). But the problem is between X and his employer. If you have any emergency to go out of country or to change jobs, you can get your passport stamped by taking an Infopass appointment or you can request IO to upload the Biometrics to TSC. you will get the card in 10 or 15 business days after uploading the biometrics. either way your GC is approved..so no worries.
My answer is depending on my experience with GC.

You are talking about 2004, 05. What about 2001, 2002 and 2003? There are so many people with 2002 priority dates still waiting just like me. Mine is 02/2002
What a unfair/unethical/inhuman system. I curse everyone who is causing this delay. They will all land up in hell.

Simple reason USCIS will tell you/senator/judge/anyone who really seek the resolution of our loooooong delayed cases is.....case is in security/background/additional review checks.....so everyone will shut their mouth and forward this message to the concerned person.....

And yes in the 8 yrs I have been with my company I have got 3 promotions and am now a Manager. My companys immigration lawyer said thats ok. He just joked that when you get your green card just make sure you get tripple demotion to new role.
So when new kids on the block (<5 yrs in US) talk about GC process being screwed up, I say pick a number and wait in line. The closest example to this feeling is waiting to go to the restroom when you live in a slum and there is line of 100 ppl ahead of you to use the loo and you have loose motions :)
well you have a cooperative lawyer and a co operative employer...That is not always the case...Sometimes the employers are just using this excuse to keep folks working in the same position just because it suits employer's interests....

Apparently you completely missed the point. I am asking core members to participate in discussion on these forums, not to put sensational headlines that excites people. Hope that helps.
IV is making efforts to prepare for the coming coming months. It involves but not limited to funding drive to sustain and grow efforts, membership drive to grow in size and have impact of numbers, generating awareness and building support via media articles. Speculating will not help much. Pls. do participate in these drives in order to build momentum for the coming months and we will all have better chances for any legislative change. We are all in this together and we all need to work hard to enable a change
